Hi everyone, I’m back today with a vintage notebook. I truly love the whole vintage, distressed, shabby chic look and these papers from Glitz – French Kiss collection are absolutely perfect. I selected the pretty bird image from their ‘Whatnots’ and peeking behind this image is one of their ‘Paper Layers’.
To create the notebook I used some Spellbinders™ die templates – Grand Rectangles and Rose Creations. I covered Nestaboard, created inner pages, inserted a binding wire and distressed the edges. I then began to decorate the front cover. To create a dimensional frame for the pretty bird image I used the very useful 3D Foam Squares.
I also chose to use Kraft Photo Corners on the frame, inked lightly – again it adds to that pretty vintage look.
My rose flowers are fixed in place with Mounting Squares. These are initially repositionable – ideal for when I’m trying to make my mind up as to where I want to place my flowers!
Attaching the lace was done with ease using E-Z Dots, they are translucent so nothing shows through.
The finished notebook, I like it so much I’m reluctant to write in it!

Hi Christine, this book is a-m-a-z-i-n-g!! I would not want to use it either, I would display it and keep stoking it – lol. Seriously though, it is absolutely beautiful, love the flowers and the frame and the birds, well everything. They must be good sticky squares to hold that hessian in place. Crafty hugs, Anne x

Hi Christine, Your notebook is truly stunning. Very feminine. I didn’t realise you could get mini dots in a roller. This must be so much easier when covering ribbon. Will definitely be getting some. Thanks for the inspiration.

Beautiful design Christine. Just the right amount of shabbiness with a bit of vintage…so my favourite. Love all the texture too.
